WHAT IS FREEDOM BAPTIST BIBLE INSTITUTE?
FBBI is a full-instruction Bible school for serious Bible students which is designed to equip them for the gospel ministry as pastors, missionaries, church planters, Sunday school teachers, children’s ministry workers and any other area where God has called them. It is a through-the-Bible curriculum with additional courses in the major doctrines, church and Baptist history, and practical courses such as church administration and principles of preaching.
The courses combine verse-by-verse Bible teaching, student worksheet and note packs, and practicums to produce a life changing learning experience.
COURSE LEVEL REQUIREMENTS
FBBI courses are undergraduate college level courses. Any student with an advanced degree may enroll as well. Current junior or senior in high school (11th -12th) students may enroll with parent’s written permission and must also be 16 years old by the start of their first semester at FBBI. All FBBI classes and materials are in English.
TEXTBOOKS
Basic textbooks are the King James Bible and the Course Notes Pack for each course taken (typically 20 packs in total, over 700 pages of materials sourced from several doctrinal books, history books, commentaries, etc. throughout the 7 semester program). The student should acquire their own King James Bible prior to the start of their first semester. The Course Notes Packs are included in the course set-up fee for each course. There are a few other textbooks required for some of the classes and these books will be offered to the student at discounted prices or the student may obtain them on their own.
TUITION AND FEES
The goal of FBBI is to “freely give” (Matthew 10:8) to our students, as the Lord has given to us to be a blessing. To this end, FBBI does not charge tuition. However, in order to offset the reality of the cost of materials, equipment, supplies and the overall administration of the school, there are some required fees that are kept very low for the sake of the students. FBBI does not earn any money or profit from these fees. They are only to pay for the above-mentioned items. All classroom hours are included in the very affordable course set-up fee due at the first day of class for each course. Fees for the school are as follows:
Application/
Enrollment fee: $ 50.00 (One-time fee)
Course Set-up fee: $ 20.00 (Per course, up to 3 courses per semester)
(Beginning of each course)
Certificate/
Diploma fee: $ 55.00 (One-time fee)
The total cost for the entire 3 1/2 year program is estimated to be less than $600.00. That is typically the cost of only one course at the typical Bible college.
CODE OF CONDUCT
(Abridged)
Each student is expected to act in a manner that reflects biblical values and to develop personal character traits that show spiritual maturity. Further, as a community of Christians, students should encourage and support others to live in a manner that pleases God. There is no greater source for direction and encouragement than the Bible. FBBI places God’s Word in the highest regard, and every student is urged to spend personal time in it regularly.
The ability to work hard is important for professional life and is a characteristic that the Bible encourages. Being available and willing to work with intelligent effort is necessary to further gospel endeavors and contribute as a citizen. The Bible teaches that each person must give account for his actions; taking personal responsibility for one’s life is the beginning of real stewardship. Making it your duty to be reliable, so that others can depend upon you, is a mark of true maturity.
A LOCAL CHURCH MINISTRY
Freedom Baptist Bible Institute is a ministry of the Freedom Baptist Church of Plant City, Florida. The vision of FBBI, under the leadership of Pastor Tony Tirse, seeks to equip the serious Bible student with the biblical resources needed to serve our Lord Jesus Christ in the gospel ministry. FBBI is founded on three truths:
1. Spiritual growth comes through the Word of God. (I Peter 2:2)
2. Jesus commanded believers to live “by every word” of God. (Matthew 4:4)
3. The Great Commission commands every church to teach every member “all things” Christ commanded.
(Matthew 28:19-20)
Therefore it is the responsibility of every local church to have a plan for teaching all of the Bible to every member so they can grow spiritually as they learn to live by every Word of God. Not every local church is able to have a facility or is equipped to fulfill this plan. To this need, FBBI also accepts students who are members of other churches of like faith and order, subject to our pastor’s approval on an individual basis.
The courses at FBBI are designed to equip a wide scope of believers to better serve Christ in the local church. These range from pastors, missionaries and church planters to Sunday school teachers, Junior church workers and soul winners. To this end, FBBI offers a 3 1/2 year (7 semesters; about 630 classroom hours) Bible College Diploma.
